Ibis Hotel London Gatwick Hotel Review
As Part of my Le Club loyalty program, I decided to Book the Ibis hotel in London Gatwick as I was visiting Friends within the Crawley area as the hotel is only 5 mins to the town centre. So here is a sum up of my visit.
The Welcome -
As a Le Club Member, I did an online check in the day before my travel and I get useful messages about how to get to the hotel via my phone, one of the messages included where to get the hotel shuttle bus to the hotel, since I was coming from London Heathrow & I was Travelling via National Express, The Coach dropped me off at the exact bus stop where The hotel shuttle is and It came within minutes after my coach left. You have to pay for the bus ride (£3 each way or £6 Return, Tickets are Valid For A Month) And the Journey from the North terminal takes around 10mins as the shuttle bus also stops at the nearby Premier Inn Gatwick North which is the stop before the Ibis Hotel.
The Hotel official stars is only 2, but I think deserves more, as soon as I entered the hotel, I was warmly welcome by a lovely staff member who told me everything about the hotel and my room was located on the 4th floor (one floor from the top) and facing the road.
The Room -
Ibis have recently refurbished their rooms to their brand new "Ibis Sweet Beds" which is designed by their sleep expects to ensure a good nights rest. The beds include a soft duvet, soft pillows, an ibis topper above the supportive mattress and other room features such as soundproofing and blackout blinds in the room, which Ibis says I'll be a rockstar ;), which I did, I slept like a log in the room as the bed is comfortable, As with all Accor properties you can pay to get the bed itself which costs roughly around £1,500 for the set!.
Other room features include a small bathroom with a powerful shower and sink, TV and Tea & Coffee facilities within the room. One thing I didn't expected in the room was this free mobile phone, it acted like a city guide, free calls and internet access and it was all for free, you can also use this to set up a wake up call and do so much more with it! not many hotels offer this type of service!!
Overall -
Ibis sets the standard for a budget type hotel, There was a small selection of buffet for breakfast but cooked breakfast is on request and there was a small snack bar in the evening with a 24/7 menu. Accor has made my stay to #FeelWelcome Yet again.
